Thanks for tuning in! It's listeners like you who will make this radio show grow and continue for years to come. Please tell your friends and invite others to tune in as well. Grass roots campaigns like this have formed the strongest programs in show biz. In fact, Jack Lalanne's TV fitness show is still running in many markets, which makes it the longest running show in history. His TV show started exactly like this radio show. Most of the information you will hear on my show is new and unique because it is based on the latest scientific research. Since research in exercise science didn't even begin to a significant degree until the 80's and wasn't popular until the 90's it is a truly new and young field with lots of exciting data. Most of what we think we know about fitness and nutrition is wrong! This is very exciting because the new information is so much better than what we have been told so far. Check back to the bottom of this page often because you will find new links to click and resources to use every week. Bookmark this page and let me do the work for you to keep you informed on the latest information on shortcuts to your best fitness ever! |

About Your Host: PJ Glassey, B.S., C.S.C.S., Co-owner and CEO, X Gyms Most of
PJ’s early personal training was out of client’s homes. He would help
them set up their own home gym to train in, or bring his own bag of tricks
for those who didn’t have or want their own workout room. These clients
were PJ’s first guinea pigs in his own exercise method development. The
methods prove so effective, his client base grew to capacity soon after. PJ and
his wife Sharmon opened their own personal training studio in 1998 called
the X Gym. The business has since grown to three studios in the PJ’s clubs are now the center for his
exercise method development. Since 1988, PJ has developed seven unique
strength training protocols. These protocols are regularly cycled with
each of his X Gym members to give them a well-rounded fitness that
doesn’t plateau like traditional training systems. The methods he has
developed require only 20 minutes, twice a week for double the results of
traditional strength training. All the
strength training methods, cardio protocols, and nutrition information
developed at the X Gym was derived from the latest in scientific research.
PJ’s research bibliography spans hundreds of the best studies, derived
from thousands he has personally researched since 1987. An abridged
version of this can be seen on his website at www.xgym.com.
Another
new concept, completely unique to the X Gym is the fact that they fire
their own clients for not getting results. PJ’s knows his system is the
best, and if clients aren’t getting the results they are after, they
simply aren’t ready mentally to make the changes necessary for optimum
benefit. Since PJ insists on top value for all of his members, he simply
asks them to take some time off until they can “get their head
straight” and are ready to follow the training system and nutritional
recommendations at the X Gym. Members may come back when they are ready,
but must always show consistent results to remain a member at any of his
clubs. Inventing
the multi-protocol concept is not the only unique concept at the X Gym. PJ
has also invented numerous exercise machines and modified may others at
his clubs to accommodate his unique exercise techniques. These techniques
and modifications are of course protected intellectual property, so
details cannot be disclosed to people and trainers outside the X Gyms. PJ’s
gyms have been featured on local and national media over the years
including Evening Magazine, NW afternoon, KTTH, Seattle Times, Seattle PI,
Fitness Management, Muscle and Fitness, Seattle Magazine, Seattle
Business, Q13 TV “Mornings Live”, Kiro 7, Komo 4, King 5 and Seattle Metropolitan Magazine’s
“Best of the City” 2007 edition. PJ has
authored many articles and educational booklets for his X Gym clients as
has been published in local and national fitness magazines and newspapers.
Some of his articles are available to the public through his website at www.xgym.com.
His most recent work was this year (2007) as a contributing author to the
book “ PJ is
the ultimate model for “practice what you preach”. He tests all his
methods on himself first, and has achieved an extremely high level of
fitness in only 20 minutes, twice a week, proving this practical fitness
through awards in strongman
contests, power lifting, weight lifting,
bodybuilding, endurance, agility, and fitness competitions. PJ has even purposely gained weight to experiment with different weight loss methods to find the ones that work the best and to be able to relate first hand to the struggles and trials of fat loss. This allows him the ability to council his clients from “first hand” experience instead of second person like most trainers. His weight has fluctuated more than 30 pounds at a time to see how fast fat can be lost and which way is the most effective. He now maintains a body fat percentage of 5-7% year-round by sticking to the X Gym’s nutrition and training systems. Born in 1966, PJ is in the best shape of his entire life and feels younger and fitter each year. He eats more calories than he ever has in his life (4000/day); is the most sedentary he has ever been (more administrative stuff); works out less than ever (36-84 minutes per week-cardio AND weights combined); is the leanest he has ever been; and his strength and cardio fitness are both at an all time high. To conventional exercisers, this simply doesn't make sense. PJ's unique methods and principles are truly the fountain of youth so many seek today! |
