The section below outlines FREE FOODS ranked from great to good . These are foods you cannot overeat so go bonkers!

Organic fresh broccoli only!

Raw is best. Try dipping it in Follow Your Heart brand low fat ranch dressing  if straight raw sounds too nasty.

Steaming is next best and then boiling. Topping with Mrs. Dash gives a salt free flavor kick. AlsoSalt brand topping is another good alternative to straight salt.

A light spray of Spritzer dressing and then broiled is a delicious way to roast this super food.

Tilapia fish from Costco is a great white meat that doesn't dry out when you cook it. Grilled, baked, broiled or boiled are great ways to cook it. Foreman grill is fastest. Top it with Mrs. Dash or other spices and seasonings.

Organic free range chicken breast can't be beat. The toppings below are good with plain chicken as well. Grilled, baked, broiled or boiled are great ways to cook it. Foreman grill is fastest.

Tyson Teriyaki Grills from Costco are low fat and low carb. They are pre-cooked so a microwave is all that is necessary for preparation. Rinse them under water to get excess sauce off and that brings the carbs down from 5g to 2-3g!

Can't say enough about celery! it can be mixed in stuff, dipped in sauces, or just eaten plain to satisfy the crunchies. It is such a low calorie food, it takes more energy to eat it and digest it than it contains so many even believe it to be one of the few negative-calorie foods that make you lose weight by consuming it!

Emergency packets can be found at PCC, SuperSupplements and Trader Joes. They are fantastic to put in your water as a flavor kick so you keep up the volume required!

Salsa.jpg (49980 bytes)

Arriba Black Bean Corn Salsa can add a kick to anything and since it has as many grams of fiber as it does carbs, with no fat or protein, it cancels itself out and has no net calories! You can find this at Fred Meyer.

PCC, Metropolitan Market, Whole Foods.

This sweetener can be used instead of sugar for just about anything. It's fantastic and actually good for you. Mix it in with your protein drink, Emergen C, decaf tea, etc. Stevia Plus seems to be the best formula but straight Stevia works almost as well.

Most whey protein powders are great as far as ratios are concerned but taste varies widely. Try Jarrow brand from Metropolitan market first with some Stevia Plus added. If that doesn't turn your crank, look up www.jayrobb.com and try his products.

Grass fed beef only!

Whole Foods or PJ@xgym.com.

Yep, you eyes are not deceiving you. This is a steak! Free-range beef is low fat enough and "clean" enough to be a free food. Be sure to cut off all the excess fat and just eat the meat.

Regular beef however, will give you cancer and make you fat in a jiffy so beware!

The section below lists supplemental items to use on your FREE FOODS.

PCC or Whole Foods. Make sure it's the LOWFAT version.

Safeway or online.

Wish Bone Salad Spritzers are pretty much the same ingredients as regular dressing but instead of pouring it on your salad with pools of dressing collecting in the vegetables, it's a light and even spray that spreads out over the veggies to give you the same taste with automatic portion control.

If you must use dressing instead of the spritzer above, Kraft Free Zesty Italian has the best ratios of any dressing (besides balsamic of course)..

Great on everything and salt free!

Bean dip.jpg (47000 bytes)

Santa Fe Black bean dip is a great ingredient in tortillas and other recipes that need spicing up while adding fiber and even a little protein. This can be found at Safeway.
